"Be Gentle" Coloring Page
This coloring page encourages children to be gentle with their dogs. All children love to hug, kiss and pet their furry companions, but it is hard for children to know when they are being too rough. Children can be shown the appropriate way to hug their animals, and need to learn that if they hug them too hard, they can actually hurt their dog or make them mad. This, in turn, can cause their dog to growl or even bite. Use this coloring page to bring up this important topic in conversation with your children, so that they can learn the appropriate way to show their dog affection. You can mention that if their dog is growling, that is a warning sign, and they should be sure to let their dog rest for awhile, and talk to a parent about what happened. Learning to be gentle is an important lesson that your children need to know about your family dog to keep both your dog and your kids safe.
This coloring worksheet has been created specifically for the Dog-Paw-Print.com site, and includes a positive message to impart about some of the basic needs of dogs and how kids can take part in their care.
