Especially for Parents

We know that parents, more than ever before, have concerns about what their kids view on the Internet. This section is designed for parents who would like to know about the educational aspects of our site, what our "Kids Spot" pages contain, and about the overall safety of the dog-paw-print.com website in general. Choosing a dog for the family is an exciting time for all family members. The "especially for kids" portion of the Dog Paw Print website, called Kids Spot, is devoted to making it fun for kids to learn about caring for dogs and celebrating dogs in general.
We carry the "family-friendly" site designation because we feel that children should have safe, appropriate places on the internet where they are comfortable to learn and play. We encourage parents and teachers to review our site and use our contact form to comment and make suggestions about dog-related material you would like to see on the Dog Paw Print website. Our links are selected carefully. We only link to sites that offer appropriate, fun, and educational material and games- sites like Scholastic, National Geographic for Kids and other high quality sites. Please check us out and let us know what you think!
On to the Fun!
"What exactly do you have for kids at Dog Paw Print?" you may ask.Good question! The answer is "a lot!" We have fun, educational, dog-themed games kids can play, along with dog stories, kids coloring sheets about dogs, kids printable activities, and funny dog pictures and videos. First up is our selection of printables. For younger children, we have created our very own dog coloring pages with great messages about how they can get involved with the care of their family dog. Our kids coloring pages are a fun way to get your kids to realize that everyone should pitch in and help with the care of family pets. By learning the importance of giving dogs food, fresh water, exercise, regular veterinary care and love, children grow as caring and compassionate beings. For parents and teachers of young children, these pages are a small way to support that beautiful quality in children. We also have a link to some terrific
dog activity pages
made available by the American Kennel Club website. Included are printable games kids can play on paper, like word scrambles, True or False quizzes, hidden pictures and matching games. These are high-quality educational sheets that contain excellent information about dogs, and are FUN to do! In addition, the AKC site has kids printable crossword puzzles and their own selection of kids coloring pages, as well.
Kids Love to Read
....Especially when there are funny and well-written books and stories about dogs to choose from! Here is a link to our unique page of
"Dog Tales"
(or was that Dog Tails?)- a collection of cute stories and poems with wonderful illustrations your children will love. These were edited and re-created for modern-day kids from books that were written in the late 19th and early 20th century. We will be adding book reviews on this page, as well as kid-oriented reviews on their own page for many dog-related books soon. These will be organized by reading level, from preschool through Middle School levels. We hope that this will be helpful to parents, when helping their children select books. As we know, kids love to read when the topic is about something they love and relate to. A love for dogs can often draw them into reading. For instance, the first book that our own daughter read by herself was Biscuit, which was about a puppy.
